Planning is in My Future

Changes are on the horizon. I started the summer with English and the Daily 5 on my mind; I will be closing out the summer with visions of  NC History and interactive notebooks dancing through my head. I am excited about this change and look forward to the challenge. Here is the main  resource I will run to while planning:

I will also utilize the TCI approach to Bringing History Alive    as well as choice boards and literacy strategies of course. OH! I don't want to forget about the new essential standards for North Carolina, and then .......so much swimming in my head.

My New Obsession

I am a huge fan of altered books, journaling and interactive notebooks in the classroom hence my obsession with the concept of this book. My daughter and I ran across this while surfing the web and thought it would be cool to start as a vacation project for all our traveling companions. The more I research it the more I want to incorporate the concept into the classroom. What a great way to get to know your students while letting them have choices and be creative. I have a few more weeks to develop this concept before I return to the classroom for a new year; until then I will be wrecking my own journal. I will periodically post pics and completed pages here so check back often:)

First Week of Boredom!

So, my first week off for the summer has led me into a state of BOREDOM! I stalked Pinterest for while and this is the result. I have been hanging on to this Stampin' Up! paper for a few years, knowing I wanted it in my classroom and here it is! I am quite proud and somewhat bored again...
